I have lived in the Bay Area for over twenty years with my partner. On a personal note, I grew up in a large, Irish family in Maryland and moved to California after college to pursue graduate school. I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Sociology and Philosophy from Frostburg State University in Maryland, and attended graduate school for Social Work at the University of California in Los Angeles. I have specialized training and expertise in Parenting, Mindfulness, Grief, Early Childhood Mental Health, Trauma-Informed Treatment, Art Therapy, and Gender Expansive Care. For the last fifteen years, I have been providing brief and long-term mental health services in hospital-based settings to individuals of all ages at Children’s Hospital Oakland as well as Kaiser San Rafael and Richmond. After graduate school, I provided school-based individual, family, and group psychotherapy to children and teens with significant emotional and behavioral differences.

I also worked closely with children in the foster care system and lived in Guatemala, offering social and educational support to women and their children. Early in my career, I volunteered as a camp counselor and worked in a domestic violence shelter for women and children.
